How it works · scan requests and material quotes
Scan the roof or price the materials: one form for both
Owners and managers start with a drone moisture scan: a map of the areas that look wet, measured in square feet, with video from the flight and a written assessment, before anything is priced. With a job in hand, ask for the materials: a written price with freight and a ship date within one business day. Nothing flies without the owner's written go-ahead, and nothing ships until you confirm.
Asking for a moisture scan
A scan request, from the form to the map
For commercial low-slope (flat) roofs anywhere in the US. The owner, a facility or property manager, or the owner's roofing contractor can ask; the owner gives the go-ahead. Nothing has to be decided until the owner has seen the map.
-
Fill in the form, naming the building
Every scan request button on this site opens the form with the request already in the notes: add the building's address after it. Give the roof area in square feet (an estimate is fine), the building's state and ZIP, and the role that fits you. Name the roof type too, if you know it.
-
A fit check, then the owner's go-ahead
A person answers. If a thermal camera is the wrong tool (ballasted or heavy gravel, metal panels, a white-coated or highly reflective surface, closed-cell foam), we say so and name the survey that fits. If it suits, we quote the scan for that roof, and we fly only with the owner's written go-ahead.
-
The flight, on a suitable evening
It needs a sunny day, then a clear, dry, calm evening, so the weather sets the date. After sunset a drone with a thermal camera flies the roof: wet insulation holds the day's heat longer than dry and reads warmer. It usually takes one evening, and the building runs as normal.
-
The map, video and a written assessment
A map of the whole roof with every area that looks wet outlined and measured in square feet, video from the flight, and a written assessment: which areas to core first and what the pattern suggests for restoring or replacing. It is a screening read, not a diagnosis.
-
Cores, then restore or replace
Small cores are cut at the flagged areas: the scan marks suspects; the cores confirm them. Wet sections are cut out and replaced before any coating. If you want an installer, we can introduce one from our network anywhere in the US, who says whether the roof is a good candidate for restoration.
Asking for materials
A materials order, from the list to the ship date
Genuine Sherwin-Williams Uniflex, sealed, in stock by the pail, the 55-gallon drum and the 275-gallon tote. Every order is quoted, a single pail included, and there is no cart, so the freight is priced for your site and the ship date is a real one.
-
Send the list, or the roof
Part numbers and quantities, if you have them. If not, the roof type, its condition and the square footage. Add the state and ZIP it ships to. The form takes text only: describe any photos, roof plan or specification in the notes. If a system has been specified for the roof, we quote exactly that.
-
Price, freight and ship date, in writing
A person answers within one business day with the price, freight to your ZIP and the ship date, and names anything the quote does not include. Drums and totes are priced by the pallet.
-
Confirm
The order is placed when you confirm the quote, not before. Stocked items leave the warehouse in 1–3 business days; items ordered in take 1–2 weeks, and the quote names them.
-
Shipped, with tracking
Pails and cartons ship by parcel or pallet, drums and totes by freight, with a lift-gate where the site has no dock. You get tracking, the ship-by date and how to report transit damage.
Shipping
Parcel, pallet or freight: how it ships
Materials ship anywhere in the US. How they travel depends on the container, so tell us on the form what the site can take and the quote prices the delivery for it.
| Pails, rolls and cartons | By parcel, or on a pallet. The quote says which. |
|---|---|
| Drums and totes | By freight on pallets, priced by the pallet. |
| No loading dock | Lift-gate delivery. Say on the form whether the site has a dock or a forklift. |
| Delivery by appointment | Quoted where the site needs it. Say so on the form. |
| Cold weather | Water-based coatings must not freeze in transit or in storage. Tell us the delivery conditions in cold months and the quote plans the shipment around them. |
| Tracking | Every shipment comes with tracking and the ship-by date. |
| Damage in transit | Note it on the carrier's receipt, photograph it, and tell us within the damage reporting window on the returns page. A person handles every damage claim. |
Regulated freight: solvent-based coatings, asphalt primers, aluminum coatings and aerosols ship as regulated goods, and the quote prices them as regulated freight. Ask for the safety data sheet for any part number and a person sends it with the quote.
What comes back
What a quote puts in writing
Nothing is ordered or booked until you have the quote in writing. Here is what a materials quote sets out, and what a scan request brings back.
-
The system, by part number
The build-up for the roof type by Sherwin-Williams part number, primer to finish coat, or exactly the system your specification names, counted in pails, drums or totes for the area.
-
Freight and the ship date
Freight priced for what the site can take; what ships from the shelf, what is ordered in and its window, and the date the order leaves.
1–3 business days Ship time, stocked items
-
The price, and what it leaves out
A written price for the materials and the freight, with anything not included named. It is not an installed cost: your roofing contractor prices the labor.
We reply within one business day. Quotes
-
For a scan: the price for that roof
A scan request comes back with the scan quoted for that roof, or with the survey that fits if a thermal camera is the wrong tool for it.
Questions
Before you send the form
The short answers. The FAQ page has the rest, and a person answers anything else.
Is there a cart?
What does the scan cost?
Can I ask for the scan and the materials at the same time?
Do you apply the coating, and do I have to use your installer?
Can my company join your installer network?
Does a scan or an order come with a roof warranty?
Can I see the data sheets before I order?
Know the roof first, then price the job
For a scan, add the building's address to the request. For materials, send the part numbers and quantities, or the roof type and size, with your ZIP: the price, freight and ship date come back within one business day.
