Cartridge work: pipe boots, equipment curbs, counterflashings, fastener heads, gutter joints and the hundred small joints every roof has. Four chemistries, most of them in white, black and clear, plus the aerosol that prepares TPO and PVC membranes for the MS hybrid.
Start with these
Why this range
-
Four chemistries, four jobs
Single-component polyurethane for general metal, masonry and shingle work. A fast-skin polyurethane where the joint cannot sit open. MS hybrid for metal, EPDM, TPO and PVC. Solvent-based tripolymer for brick, concrete, glass, vinyl, tile, wood and asphalt.
-
Sizes that match the work
10.1 oz polyurethane cartridges, 24 per case. MS hybrid at 10 oz in white and black and 9.5 oz in clear, 24 per case. Tripolymer at 10.3 oz, 24 per case, and at 29 oz, 6 per case. Brushable sealant in 1-gallon cans, 4 per case.
-
Application and service ranges on the label
The polyurethanes apply and serve from -20 F to 150 F. MS hybrid applies from 30 F to 120 F and serves from -40 F to 200 F. Tripolymer applies from 0 F to 140 F and serves from -40 F to 180 F. The brushable sealant covers -40 F to 250 F on both counts.
-
Substrate lists written for roofs
Coated metal (Kynar), EPDM, TPO, PVC, steel, aluminum, masonry, brick, concrete, glass, vinyl, tile, wood and asphalt shingles appear across the range, so the joint decides the cartridge. Hypalon is on none of the lists.
Where it's used
-
Pipe and conduit penetrations
Boots, sleeves and conduit stands, gunned and tooled before the coating or left as the finished detail.
-
Counterflashings and terminations
Termination bars, reglets and counterflashing laps on parapets and walls, where the joint moves and a hard filler will not hold.
-
Fastener heads and panel laps
Screw lines and side laps on metal roofs, where the sealant goes down ahead of the tape or the base coat.
-
Gutters, scuppers and skylight curbs
Gutter seams, downspout joints and the curb line around skylights and smoke vents.
-
Damp, oily or dirty surfaces
Repairs where the surface will not come fully clean, which is the listed use for the brushable sealant, though it is not for EPDM.
How to choose
-
Which chemistry for which membrane?
On TPO or PVC, use the MS hybrid: the black is listed over aged membrane as it is, the white over the adhesion promoter, and new membrane needs a primer first. On EPDM, use the MS hybrid directly. On metal, masonry, wood or asphalt shingles, the polyurethane and the tripolymer both list the substrate, so the choice comes down to color and cure behaviour, which the data sheets state.
-
Standard or fast-skin polyurethane?
Both are single-component polyurethane in 10.1 oz cartridges and cover the same temperature range. The fast-skin grade is the moisture-cure version and skins over sooner, which matters on a joint that has to be walked past or that might see weather the same day. Exact times are in the manufacturer product data sheet.
-
Cartridge or gallon?
Cartridges for gunned joints, including the 29 oz tripolymer where the run is long enough that reloading costs more than the bigger tube. The 1-gallon brushable cans are for brushing a repair out over an area rather than filling a joint.
-
Hypalon is the exception
None of these cartridges names Hypalon (CSPE). On a Hypalon roof the sealant is confirmed with the manufacturer's technical service and an adhesion test before the order, and the butyl seam tape, coated over the same day, is the detail product listed for the membrane. Tell us the membrane type.

The TPO and PVC promoter
KST058700 is a clear 14 oz aerosol, 6 per case, applied from 0 F to 100 F, whose only job is to prepare TPO and PVC membranes for the white MS hybrid sealant. It is for TPO and PVC only. It is an aerosol, so it moves as regulated freight, which the quote prices.

Questions
Which sealant goes on a TPO or PVC roof?
The MS hybrid. The black KST058310's current data sheet lists aged TPO and PVC as they are and asks for a primer on new membrane, so tell us the age of the roof and ask us which. The white KST058300 is listed over primed TPO and PVC, with the KST058700 aerosol as the promoter. On a Silicone44 job, the black is the one that seals open seams and flashings before the coating.
And on EPDM?
The MS hybrid, which lists EPDM directly; the black is not for white EPDM. Note that the solvent-based brushable sealant is explicitly not for EPDM, so if the roof is EPDM, that one is off the list whatever the repair looks like.
And on Hypalon?
None of our cartridge sealants names Hypalon (CSPE), and the TPO and PVC promoter is for TPO and PVC only. On Hypalon the sealant is confirmed with the manufacturer's technical service and an adhesion test before the order. The butyl seam tape is the detail product listed for Hypalon, coated over with the elastomeric the same day.
Can I coat over the sealant?
It depends on the chemistry and on how long it has had to cure. The manufacturer product data sheet for each sealant sets out what may go over it and when. Tell us the coating system at quote time and we check the two sheets against each other before the order goes out.
What colors are there?
Polyurethane in white, black and gray. Fast-skin polyurethane in white and black. MS hybrid in white, black and clear. Tripolymer in white, black and clear, in two cartridge sizes each. Brushable in white, black and clear.
How do I order, and what about freight?
Send the part numbers, quantities, site ZIP and your dates through the quote form. Every price is quoted per project. Stocked material ships in 1 to 3 business days; anything not on the shelf is ordered in and runs 1 to 2 weeks. The solvent-based sealants and the aerosol move as regulated freight, quoted with the order.
About this collection
Sealant is the smallest line on a roofing order and the one that gets called back about. A joint moves, a boot cracks, a gutter seam opens, and the material that was in the gun decides whether that detail is still closed in two years. This collection carries the whole Sherwin-Williams Uniflex sealant range, held in stock, quoted per project, and sold by the case as well as the tube.
The polyurethanes are the general-purpose cartridges. KST058100 in white, KST058110 in black and KST058120 in gray are the single-component grade, 10.1 oz, 24 per case, listed for steel, aluminum, coated metal (Kynar), masonry, wood and asphalt shingles. KST058200 in white and KST058210 in black are the moisture-cure fast-skin version in the same size, listed for sheet metal, brick, wood, tile, steel and asphalt shingles.
Where the roof is a membrane, the MS hybrid is the one that lists it: KST058300 in white and KST058310 in black at 10 oz, and KST058350 in clear at 9.5 oz, for EPDM, TPO, PVC and metal. The white and the clear go over TPO and PVC once primed; the black’s current data sheet lists aged TPO and PVC as they are, asks for a primer on new membrane, and rules out white EPDM. The black is also the seam and flashing sealant under Silicone44. The solvent-based tripolymer covers the masonry and glazing side of a roof, in two sizes per color: KST058400 and KST058401 in white, KST058410 and KST058411 in black, KST058450 and KST058451 in clear.
Two more finish the set. The fibered brushable sealants KST058500, KST058510 and KST058550 come in 1-gallon cans for damp, oily or slightly dirty surfaces, though not for EPDM, and KST058700 is the aerosol adhesion promoter that prepares TPO and PVC for the white MS hybrid. Reinforce the bigger details with Reinforcing fabrics & seam tapes, close the splits and blisters with Patch & repair, pick the system from Elastomeric & silicone finish coats, and send the lot through the quote form with the site ZIP and your dates.
