Overview
KST04130P is the pastel tint base of the premium acrylic elastomeric roof coating. Chemistry and substrate list are the catalog colors’: 100% acrylic elastomeric, water-based, listed over metal, polyurethane foam, concrete, smooth built-up, modified bitumen, granular cap sheets, EPDM and Hypalon, with fabric or seam tape at the details. It leaves the factory as a base, and the color goes in afterwards through the manufacturer colorant system.
Pastel is the base for the light end of the range: off-whites, soft grays, pale warm tones, the colors picked so a roof sits with the walls around it. A roof that can be plain white does not need a tint base at all, since white is a catalog color in both grades. The other two bases are KST04130A, accent, for strong saturated colors, and KST04130D, deep, for dark ones. Rates, film build, recoat and cure come from the manufacturer’s product data sheet.
Application
- Start on a roof that is clean, dry and sound. Wash the field, clear ponded silt and loose granules, and let it dry as the data sheet requires.
- Repair first, then reinforce the details before the field: splits, blisters, open laps, flashings, penetrations and fastener rows.
- Prime by substrate. Metal, concrete, single ply and asphaltic roofs each take their own first step off the data sheet.
- Base coat, then finish coat, and buy the tinted material for the whole roof in one order so the color does not drift between runs.
- Apply at the rate, film build and coat count the manufacturer’s product data sheet states, in the conditions it allows.
Ordering
KST04130P is held as a 5-gallon pail. Stocked pails ship in 1 to 3 business days; anything not on the shelf is ordered in and runs 1 to 2 weeks, and tinted material should be planned against the longer window. Pallet quantities, delivery and freight go through the quote form, and every price is quoted per project rather than printed here. Send the color you are matching, the part numbers, the quantities, the site ZIP code and your dates, and we reply with the price, freight and a ship date.
Where it's used
-
Light roofs that are not plain white
Low-slope roofs finished in an off-white, a soft gray or a pale tone chosen to sit with the walls rather than stand against them.
-
Residential and HOA work
Housing and small multifamily roofs where a community standard names a light color that is not one of the catalog four.
-
Terraces and visible decks
Roof areas overlooked from upper floors, where the color was picked alongside the paving and the parapets.
-
Metal and concrete substrates
Panel roofs over a metal primer and cured concrete decks over the acrylic concrete primer, once the details have been reinforced.
-
Asphaltic roofs under a light finish
Smooth BUR, modified bitumen and granular cap sheets, over the elastomeric MB base coat those surfaces take so asphalt does not read through a light color.

Questions
- Pastel base or the catalog white?
- If plain white is acceptable, KST041300 is the premium white and KST041500 the commercial grade white, both ready in the pail. The pastel base is for a light color that has to be matched or shaded, and it is tinted with the manufacturer colorant system before it becomes that color.
- Do you tint it?
- No. We do not tint. Tinting is done with the manufacturer colorant system, and the quote states how that is handled for your order before you commit to anything.
- Which base does my color need?
- The colorant formula decides. Pastel is the base for light colors, accent for strong saturated ones and deep for dark ones. Send the color you are matching on the quote request and we come back with the base, the quantity and the lead time.
- How much material will the roof take?
- The manufacturer's product data sheet states the coverage rate and the film build per coat and per substrate. Send the square footage, the roof type and its condition and the quote works the pails out for that roof.
- Can it ship in cold weather?
- It is a water-based coating and must not freeze in transit or in storage. Give us the destination and the dates and the quote states the ship window before you commit.
