- 4 in × 50 ft
- Sold by the case
A fleece-backed MS hybrid tape for holes, tears and seams in gutters, flashings, skylights and roofing membranes. It goes on from 0 F up, wet surfaces included, and the maker lists it as not needing to be coated over, which makes it a repair tape as well as a detail tape.
Key benefits
- Listed for application from 0 F and up, including on wet surfaces, so a repair does not have to wait for a dry warm day
- The maker lists it as not needing a coat over it, so it can finish a repair on its own
- Service temperature listed up to 300 F
- 4 in × 50 ft rolls, six to the case, which is 300 linear feet of repair work per box
- Fleece backing gives an MS hybrid tape a face that the sealants and coatings in the range can work with

Overview
Most repair calls come in at the wrong time of year. The gutter seam that opened is wet, the membrane tear is at 20 degrees, and nothing that needs a warm dry surface is going to help. KST058004 is the Uniflex answer to that: an MS hybrid adhesive on a fleece backing, listed for application from 0 F and up with wet surfaces included, in a 4 in × 50 ft roll packed six to the case.
The other thing that sets it apart is what does not have to happen afterwards. The maker lists this tape as not needing to be coated over, so a repair to a gutter, a skylight curb or a torn membrane can be finished with the tape itself instead of being staged as reinforcement under a coating system. Its listed service range runs up to 300 F. The 6 in roll is the same tape for wider work, and on TPO or PVC the KST058700 promoter is what prepares the membrane for the matching MS hybrid sealant.
Application
- Get the repair area as clean, dry and sound as conditions allow, and take off loose material even when the surface itself cannot be dried.
- Prepare the substrate the way the data sheet requires. Where the white MS hybrid sealant goes on TPO or PVC, the membrane is primed with the adhesion promoter first.
- Deal with the detail first: cut back torn membrane, refasten what is loose, and close the biggest gaps before the tape goes over them.
- Center the tape on the defect, press it down across its whole width with a roller, and lap the ends rather than butting them.
- Follow the manufacturer’s product data sheet for preparation, temperature limits and whether anything may be applied over the tape on your roof.
Ordering
KST058004 is sold by the case of six 4 in × 50 ft rolls. Stocked cases ship in 1 to 3 business days; if the width is off the shelf it is ordered in on a 1 to 2 week lead. Pallet quantities, and any drums or totes shipping with them, are quoted as freight through the quote form along with the part numbers, quantities, site ZIP and your dates. Every price is quoted per project, never listed.
Where it's used
-
Holes and tears in membrane
Punctures, cuts and tears in a roofing membrane, taped over as a repair rather than as reinforcement under a coating system.
-
Gutter seams and splits
Lapped seams, split corners and outlet joints in existing gutters, where the surface is often damp and rarely warm.
-
Flashing repairs
Base and counterflashing details that have opened, taped in place without waiting on a wet coat to carry the reinforcement.
-
Skylight frames and curbs
The joint between a skylight frame and its curb, and the curb line itself, where a narrow tape follows the corners.
-
Cold and wet weather work
Service calls in winter or after rain, where the listed 0 F and wet-surface application is the reason this tape is on the truck.

Questions
- How is this different from the butyl seam tape?
- The butyl tapes are detail reinforcement that the coating system runs over. This one is an MS hybrid with a fleece back, listed for holes, tears and seams and listed as not needing a coat over it, so it can be the finished repair.
- Can it really go on a wet surface?
- The maker lists application from 0 F and up with wet surfaces included. The manufacturer's product data sheet is what defines the limits, so read it before a repair in standing water or in freezing rain.
- Does it work on TPO or PVC?
- Roofing membranes are on its listed use. For the white MS hybrid sealant, TPO and PVC are prepared with the KST058700 adhesion promoter first, while the black is listed over aged TPO and PVC as they are, so check the tape's own data sheet for how it treats those two membranes.
- 4 in or 6 in?
- 4 in for punctures, gutter seams, skylight frames and narrow flashing repairs. KST058006 is the 6 in roll for wider tears, broader seams and larger flashing details.
- How is it ordered?
- By the case of six rolls, through the quote form with the part number, quantity, site ZIP and your dates. Stocked cases ship in 1 to 3 business days.
