Overview
When a tear is longer than a hand span, or the membrane either side of it has taken a beating too, a narrow tape ends up bonded to damaged material. KST058006 is the 6 in width of the Uniflex fleece-backed MS hybrid bonding tape, 50 ft to the roll and four rolls to the case, and the extra width is there to reach sound surface on both sides of the defect.
Everything else matches the 4 in roll: the same MS hybrid adhesive on a fleece back, the same listed use on holes, tears and seams in gutters, flashings, skylights and roofing membranes, application from 0 F and up with wet surfaces included, service listed up to 300 F, and no requirement to coat over it. Where the same joint is better gunned than taped, the MS hybrid sealants KST058300 and KST058310 cover the same chemistry in a cartridge.
Application
- Clean back to sound material across the full width of the tape, not just along the defect, and remove anything loose even if the surface stays damp.
- Prepare the substrate as the data sheet requires. Where the white MS hybrid sealant goes on TPO or PVC, the membrane takes the adhesion promoter first.
- Handle the detail before the tape. Trim torn membrane, refasten loose edges and close wide gaps first.
- Roll the tape down across its whole width and lap the roll ends. Pressure, not waiting, is what makes the bond.
- Follow the manufacturer’s product data sheet for surface preparation, temperature limits and anything that may be applied over the tape.

Questions
- Why choose 6 in over 4 in?
- Because the defect is wider, or the surface next to it is damaged too. Six inches gives more sound bearing on both sides. The 4 in roll, KST058004, is more economical per foot for punctures and narrow seams.
- Does it need a coating over it?
- The maker lists it as not needing to be coated over, which is why it suits gutters and standalone repairs. On a coating project the data sheet for the coating states what may go over it.
- Can it be applied in freezing weather?
- It is listed from 0 F and up, wet surfaces included. The manufacturer's product data sheet sets the actual limits and the preparation required, so read it before working in ice or standing water.
- What about TPO and PVC?
- Roofing membranes are in its listed use. With the white MS hybrid sealant, TPO and PVC take the KST058700 promoter first, while the black is listed over aged TPO and PVC as they are, so check the tape's own sheet for how those membranes are handled.
- How long does delivery take?
