KST019100 Uniflex Skylight Restorative Clear Coating
- Skylight coating
- Sold by the pail
The Uniflex clear coating for fiberglass skylight panels, so the panels sitting in the middle of a restoration scope get handled on the same visit as the field of the roof. Water-based acrylic, clear rather than pigmented, stocked in 5-gallon pails and quoted against the job.
Key benefits
- Written for one substrate: fiberglass skylight panels are what the manufacturer product data sheet lists
- Clear rather than pigmented, so a panel is coated without being painted out
- 100% acrylic and water based, the same chemistry family as the Uniflex acrylic roof coatings it ships beside
- One pack size, the 5-gallon pail, which keeps a skylight package simple to take off a roof plan
- Held in stock, so it leaves with the base coat and finish coat instead of three weeks behind them

Overview
A restoration scope usually stops at the skylights. The field of the roof gets its prep, its base coat and its finish coat, and the fiberglass panels sitting in the middle of all that are left exactly as they were. KST019100 is the Uniflex answer to that gap: a clear, water-based acrylic coating whose data sheet names fiberglass skylight panels as its substrate.
It is a small line on a large scope and it is far easier to buy with the roof than after it. We hold it in 5-gallon pails alongside the rest of the Uniflex line, so it is quoted with the coatings rather than trailing them. Close the joint between panel, frame and curb first with KST058004 fleece-backed bonding tape or a clear sealant such as KST058350, then the panels and the roof can be coated in one sequence.
Application
- Start on a clean, dry, sound panel. Anything loose, chalky or delaminating is a repair decision before it is a coating decision.
- Details come first: the joints between panel, frame and curb, and the fasteners around them, get taped or sealed before any field coating is opened.
- Prime by substrate where the manufacturer’s product data sheet calls for a primer, and take that call from the sheet rather than from habit.
- Apply to the rates, film build and number of coats the manufacturer’s product data sheet states, and hold to its temperature limits and recoat windows.
- The product data sheet governs surface preparation, cure times and everything else on the roof. This page is a stock and ordering page, not a specification.
Ordering
KST019100 comes in the 5-gallon pail. Stocked material ships in 1 to 3 business days; anything not on the shelf is ordered in and runs 1 to 2 weeks. Pails by the pallet, the drums and totes of the coatings it ships beside, and the freight that carries them all go through the quote form with your part numbers, quantities, site ZIP and dates. Every price here is quoted per project, so no figure is printed on this page.
Where it's used
-
Fiberglass skylight panels
The substrate on the data sheet. Corrugated and flat fiberglass panels set into a commercial roof, coated while the field of that roof is being restored.
-
Domes and continuous ridge lights
Fiberglass domes and ridge lights over warehouses, plants and gyms, where the panels are the oldest part of the assembly and everything around them is already being coated.
-
One line of a restoration scope
Specified with the roof rather than after it, so the panels, the curbs and the field are coated in one sequence by one crew instead of the skylights being left as they were.
-
Curb and frame details
Bought alongside the bonding tape and clear sealants that close the joint between panel, frame and curb before any coating goes on.

Questions
- What surface is this coating for?
- Fiberglass skylight panels. That is the substrate the manufacturer product data sheet lists, and it is the only one we quote it against. Glass, polycarbonate and acrylic glazing are not on that list, so ask before you assume a panel qualifies.
- Does it dry clear?
- It is a clear coating rather than a pigmented one. The manufacturer product data sheet states the film build, the number of coats and the cure times; we supply the material and point you at the sheet, and the crew works to it.
- Can it go on during the same visit as the roof coating?
- That is the usual way it is bought. Put the skylight count and the panel area on the same quote as the roof, and the quote covers the skylight coating with the base coat and the finish coat.
- What size does it come in?
- A 5-gallon pail. If the job takes a pallet of pails, say so on the quote and the freight is priced with the material.
- Do you apply it?
- No. We are a stocking supplier and an authorized reseller of the Sherwin-Williams Uniflex line. We hold the material, quote it and ship it. The application, and the decision about what a given panel needs, belong to the contractor on the roof. We work with a network of installers, roofing contractors who apply these systems, and can introduce you to one anywhere in the US.
