KST058401 Uniflex Tripolymer Roofing Sealant, White, 29 oz Cartridge
- Tripolymer sealant
- Sold by the case
The large white tripolymer cartridge, 29 oz and six to the case. Same solvent-based sealant as the 10.3 oz tube, with the same substrate list and stated temperatures, in the size crews buy for continuous runs of coping, parapet and panel joints.
Key benefits
- Nearly three times the material of the 10.3 oz tube, so a long run means fewer reloads and fewer part-used cartridges
- Needs a barrel gun rather than a standard cartridge gun, which is worth checking before the order
- Same substrate list as the small tube: coated metal (Kynar), brick, concrete, glass, vinyl, steel, tile, wood and asphalt
- Application listed from 0 F to 140 F and service from -40 F to 180 F
- Six 29 oz cartridges per case, against 24 of the 10.3 oz size

Overview
On a long run of coping or a big glazing perimeter, the limiting factor is not the sealant, it is the reload. KST058401 is the 29 oz white tripolymer cartridge, six to the case, and it is what a crew orders when the joint runs for a hundred feet rather than a few.
The material is identical to the 10.3 oz KST058400: a solvent-based tripolymer listed for coated metal (Kynar), brick, concrete, glass, vinyl, steel, tile, wood and asphalt, applied from 0 F to 140 F, in service from -40 F to 180 F, tack free in 2 hours with cure given as 4 to 6 days. The one practical difference is the gun. A 29 oz tube needs a barrel gun sized for it, so check the crew is carrying one. Black and clear come in the same size as KST058411 and KST058451.
Application
- Work into a clean, dry, sound joint. Old sealant out, dust brushed off porous masonry, metal and glazing degreased.
- Prime where the substrate needs it, with a concrete primer on cured concrete, a metal primer on steel, and the stated preparation on glazing.
- Run the details before the field coats, so a long sealed joint is not disturbed later by coating work.
- Keep the tooling moving with the gun. A large cartridge makes it easy to get ahead of yourself on a run that skins in about two hours.
- Follow the manufacturer’s product data sheet for joint design, bead size, cure and what may be applied over the sealant.
Ordering
KST058401 is sold by the 29 oz cartridge and by the case of six. Stocked cases ship in 1 to 3 business days; anything off the shelf is ordered in on a 1 to 2 week lead. Because the product is solvent-based it ships as regulated freight, quoted with the order. Put the part numbers, quantities, site ZIP and your dates on the quote form and the price comes back with freight and a ship date. Every price is quoted per project.
Where it's used
-
Continuous coping and parapet runs
Long joint runs along masonry copings and parapet terminations, where stopping every few feet to reload is the slowest part of the job.
-
Large glazing perimeters
Skylight and roof glazing perimeters on big units, where glass and vinyl on the substrate list matter and the run is unbroken.
-
Panel and trim lines
Long laps, ridge lines and trim joints on coated metal (Kynar) and steel roofs, gunned ahead of the coating system.
-
Concrete deck joints
Joints across cured concrete decks and around curbs, worked into a porous surface along a continuous line.
-
Cold-weather production work
Runs sealed down to the listed 0 F application limit, where the larger tube keeps a cold-weather crew moving.

Questions
- Is the material different from the 10.3 oz tube?
- No. KST058400 and KST058401 are the same white solvent-based tripolymer with the same substrate list, the same 0 F to 140 F application range and the same stated cure. Only the cartridge size and case count change.
- Do I need a different gun?
- A 29 oz cartridge needs a barrel gun sized for it. A standard 10 oz cartridge gun will not take it, so confirm the crew has the right gun before ordering cases.
- When is the big tube worth it?
- On continuous runs. If the crew is emptying a small cartridge every few minutes, the 29 oz size cuts the reloads and the waste. Scattered detail work is still easier in the 10.3 oz tube.
- How many cartridges in a case?
- Six. The 10.3 oz size is packed 24 per case, so compare cases by total ounces rather than by cartridge count when you price a job.
- How does it ship?
- As regulated freight, because the product is solvent-based. Freight is quoted with the order. Stocked cases ship in 1 to 3 business days.
