Is it the same material as the white and black?

Yes. All three are the same solvent-based fibered brushable sealant, with the same listed surfaces, the same -40 F to 250 F range and the same stated tack-free and cure times.

No. The maker states this grade is not for EPDM. On EPDM, the MS hybrid sealants and the fleece-backed MS hybrid bonding tapes are the ones that list the membrane.

Does it need reinforcement?

At splits and open laps, most specifications work a polyester fabric strip into the wet material. The fabrics in the range are listed for that and the data sheet gives the rates.

KST058550 is the clear grade of the Uniflex brushable roof repair sealant, in 1-gallon cans four to the case, and it lets the surface underneath show through the repair.

The material is the same fibered solvent-based sealant as KST058500 in white and KST058510 in black, with the same listed surfaces, many roofing materials including damp, oily or slightly dirty ones, and the same limits: not for EPDM, application and service from -40 F to 250 F, tack free at 4 hours, cure at 5 days. For a repair that wants troweling rather than brushing, KST058600 is the wet-dry roof cement.

Application

Clean the area as well as the roof allows and strip off everything loose, even where the surface itself stays damp.
Confirm the substrate is one the sealant lists. EPDM is excluded, and the primer, where the system needs one, follows the substrate.
Repair the defect before sealing it. Cut and refill blisters, close splits, refasten loose sheet, then brush out past the edges.
Keep the brushed area neat and feathered at the edges. With a clear grade, the shape of the repair is what people notice.
Follow the manufacturer’s product data sheet for coverage, film build, cure and whatever may be applied over the repair.
